Honeyville's Rancher’s Cut Freeze Dried Sausage is made from 100% wholesome pork, inspected and approved by the USDA, leaving no doubt that you’re getting the best quality on the market. Our sausage crumbles always make great dishes, including omelets, pastas, meat sauces, pizza toppings and more! The one thing you never have to sacrifice with Honeyville long term food is taste; our meats are both delicious and shelf stable. With these sausage crumbles now available in smaller, travel size cans, you can enjoy them on the go for camping, hiking, road trips and backpacking without having to open a large can.
The main source of protein in the average daily diet comes from meat, so we understand how meats are an important food storage item for emergency preparedness. The biggest benefits of sausage is not just protein, but also iron, phosphorus, and B vitamins, so stock up with Honeyville’s great tasting sausage. It’s your best bet for both food storage and everyday cooking.
Shelf-Life: Stores for 10 to 15 years in an unopened sealed can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once opened, freeze dried meat should be used within 1 month if refrigerated, 1 week if not.
To Rehydrate: Add 1 cup of boiling water to ½ cup of Freeze Dried Sausage. Stir once, cover and let stand for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off excess water and use the sausage as you would use fresh pork sausage.
Uses: Freeze Dried Sausage can be used to make omelets, pastas, pizza toppings, meat sauces and more.

I use this in chili, spagetti, country gravy, the possibilities are endless! Even the kids love it! I just wish it was still available in the smaller cans, as our family is down sizing (kids finally moving out) so a large can is just too much for DH and I to use up in a timely manner.

Well what can I say, I paid $40 dollars for something that is very similar to small little rubbery granules that have absolutely no flavor. Wish I have never ordered it!

I use this in my spaghetti recipe along with the Honeyville hamburger, tomato powder, diced tomato, cheese powder, cheese, and veggies. It is now our favorite go to. My Yaya's and I are going camping in a few weeks and I've volunteered to bring the food. I have already made up the mason jars of Chicken noodle soup, spaghetti, beef stew and taco soup-all form the Honeyville recipe book. I haven't been brave enough to make the quiche yet but I just might!

I'd read the positive remarks on this product so I thought I'd give it a try. It is wonderful for making your own biscuit and gravy mix! I will definitely be buying this again. :-)

Okay, so all the foods we try dry before we re-hydrate, just to test it. I mean, if it tastes good without water, with water it will be very yummy. Well, I actually heard some squeals of approval during the "dry run" and once hydrated and used... watch your wiener schnitzel!!

So good in breakfast scrambles, on pizza, with ground beef in sloppy joes, in spaghetti sauce. One of those items I will buy regularly for TSHTF storage and to have on hand.

I love this sausage. It is wonderful for egg dishes. The taste ans texture of fresh sausage, without the grease. I think all of the freeze-dried meats are pricey for the amount it makes though.

I was skeptical but brave enough to try it and was pleasantly surprised at how amazingly GOOD this sausage is. I confess that my favorite way to eat it is straight out of the mason jar that I kept in the frig a pinch at a time. It's addictive and mo wonder it's out of stock right now.
