Potato Cheese Soup from Honeyville Farms is just too good to be locked away in your family food storage. Sure we've formulated our Potato Cheese Soup Mix to store for up to 5 years, but why wait? It's that good. This creamy blend of cheese, potatoes and choice vegetables is seasoned to perfection and so easy to prepare. Just bring water to a boil, whisk in soup mix and cook for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes and serve. Great as a meal, the first course of your favorite meal, or, if you really must, a nice comfort food component for your food storage.
Shelf Life: Stores for 3-5 years in the sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place).
Instructions: Bring water to a rolling boil. Whisk in Potato Cheese Soup Mix. Reduce heat and cook at a gentle boil for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes prior to serving. Salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!

I agreed with previous review that less water makes this soup much thicker and creamier. I did not know ( or neglected to read) that this soup has chicken stock in it and it definitely has a different taste than potato soup. This soup is the BEST soup I have ever eaten! No joke! I love New England Clam Chowder because it is so rich and creamy (at least a good one is) but this potato cheese soup is even richer and creamier. I compared this with Bears potato cheese soup mix and there is no comparison. The Bears was greasy and tasteless. Honeyville's is fantastic! It's creamy cheesy and the chunks of potato and other vegetables re-hydrate to perfection. The seasoning is excellent. I like to mix it with slightly less water than the instructions call for to make a thicker soup but it's incredible either way. Make sure that you cook the soup for the full fifteen minutes that the instructions call for otherwise it will fail to thicken properly. Also be careful when you first add the soup mix to the boiling water. It froths up immediately and has a tendency to boil over. Keep whisking the soup and blow on it to break up the bubbles.
