Honeyville’s Parboiled Rice is created by using a unique process that starts with the entire grain instead of removing the hull first like traditional rice. The complete grain of rice is soaked, steamed and dried, before having the hull removed. This process lets parboiled rice be a better source of fiber, calcium, potassium and vitamin B-6 than regular white rice because the bran isn’t removed.
Use for any of your rice dishes like stir fry, teriyaki and Mexican fried rice. It cooks up just like white and brown rice, but has a firmer, less sticky texture that most people prefer. Add some parboiled rice to your long term and everyday kitchen needs to enjoy healthy, nutritious rice anytime.
Shelf-Life: Stores for 15 to 20 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place).
Instructions: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of rice and reduce heat to low. Cover and let stand for 20 minutes, then serve.
Uses: Used to make pastas, stir fry, side dishes and any recipe calling for rice.
Packaging: Sealed air tight in a #10 can and weighs approximately 4 pounds. A case contains 6 #10 cans and weighs 24 pounds. Each can contains 40 servings. One serving size is ¼ cup.
