Freeze Dried Sweet Corn
Honeyville's Freeze Dried Sweet Corn will wow you with its light and crisp taste! It’s also a versatile product, allowing you to add it – freeze dried – to whatever creation you can think of that includes liquid. Our corn is non-GMO and kosher, making it perfect for breathing new life into your favorite chili, and vegetable medleys. Not only does it make a great addition to any recipe, it can be rehydrated and eaten as a side dish. Whether you're hitting the campgrounds, serving up a home cooked meal to your family, or assembling an emergency food supply, there's always an occasion for dried corn.
The freeze drying process consists of placing the corn into a refrigerated vacuum system that dehydrates it. During this process, the ice in the corn doesn’t become liquid; it turns right into vapor. Additives need not be a concern for you because our freeze drying process maintains the integrity of the vegetable. When rehydrated, it will begin to resemble fresh corn, again. Rest assured that it doesn’t lose its nutritional value in the freeze dried state. For this very reason, it’s an excellent choice for long-term food storage, and emergency preparedness.
Shelf-Life: Freeze Dried Sweet Corn has the ability to be stored for 10 to 15 years, in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included), in a cool, dry place. Once the can has been opened, it has an average shelf-life of 12 to 18 months.
Instructions: Add 3 parts water to 1 part corn. Allow the corn to absorb water for about 20 minutes or until fully rehydrated. If you would like to use it in your recipe, no need to rehydrate it separately; it will simply take on the liquid from the dish you add it to.
Uses: Honeyville's Sweet Corn can be eaten alone or added to casseroles, various soups, pot pies, and anything else you can think of!
Packaging: Our Sweet Corn comes sealed in an airtight #10 can and weighs about 1.25 lbs. A case contains 6 #10 cans and weighs 7.5 lbs. Each can contains 40 servings. A single serving size is ¼ of a cup, however, once rehydrated, a serving size comes out to about 2/3 of a cup.
Allergen information: This product is produced on equipment that processes products containing soy, wheat, egg, peanut, and tree nuts.
