Honeyville's Farina Ground Wheat Cereal is made from the endosperm of the grain, which is milled to a fine granular consistency and then sifted. Farina is most often served as a breakfast cereal, but can also be cooked like polenta. Farina is also known as Germade and *Cream of Wheat. Honeyville Farina Ground Wheat Cereal is an ideal product for long term food storage and emergency preparedness.
Shelf-Life: Farina Ground Wheat Cereal in a small bag will store for 1 year in a sealed 2.5 pound bag under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). In a can it will store for 10 to 15 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). In a large bag it will store 1 year in a sealed 50 pound bag under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once opened, it has an average shelf life of 6 to 12 months.
Instructions: For hot cereal, add 2/3 cup Farina Ground Wheat to 3 cups of boiling water. Reduce heat to medium, cover and continue cooking for about 2 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve.
Uses: Farina Ground Wheat Cereal is used to make wholesome *Cream of Wheat thats rich in flavor and nutrients. It may also be used to make polenta.
