The Wüsthof Classic Chef knife is a true kitchen multi-tasker. This knife from the Classic Series is precision forged from high carbon, no-stain steel leaving a seamless, hygienic fit between handle, bolster and full tang. Each knife edge is skillfully honed by hand and the full blade is perfectly balanced, which makes any cutting job effortless and smooth in your kitchen. The chef knife, also called the cook knife, is the most essential of all knives used in the kitchen. It can coarse or fine chop, mince and dice virtually every kind of food and most chefs refer to this knife as an extension of their hand.
This particular knife is now made with PEtec, precision edge technology, that makes the edge twice as sharp as the Wüsthof original standard. This state of the art technology features a computer controlled method for creating a razor sharp, long lasting edge. This technology measures the blade before sharpening, and calculates the exact angle of 14 degrees per side (for a total of 28 degrees) for each blade. The blade is then sharpened on a whetstone using precision robots. The result is an optimum cutting edge along the entire length of the blade, resulting in an extremely high initial cutting potential and exceptionally long edge retention.
