Better than oatmeal

I am an eater of hot cereals with my best being oatmeal. However, one day I was reading about groats and wanted to try them. I ordered from Amazon a 50 pound bag of groats from Honeyville and I am sooooooooooooo glad I did. I love them. Groats are an upgrade from oatmeal. I eat them everyday. I soak my groats overnight in my refrigerator. In the morning while I am getting dressed, I put my groats on low heat and let them cook. By the time I am finished dressing, they are finished. I have a container that I carry my cooked groats to work in and put the rest back in the refrigerator. I put a slice of REAL BUTTER on top of the container I take to work. By the time I arrive, the butter has melted in with the groats and the taste is AWESOME. I prepare enough groats for 3 days at a time. Simple, tasty and nutritious.

I read all the reviews about this product and thought I'd try it. I am so glad I did! I cook it in the crock pot and eat this all during the week. I will order again.

Retired

I purchased a 50LB bag of steel cut oats from Honeyville and I really like them and later while browsing the site I thought I'd try the 2.2 bag of groats and I think they're tops. I intend to get a 50lb bag of them when I finish the steel cuts. It will be some time as I still have 12LB of the steel cut to use. I've given friends some and they really like them.(the steel cut). I wouldn't part with my groats.-;0) Of course I'll share if I get the big bag. The groats need a little more cooking time. After cooking I've used oats as a cerel as body for my whey protein mix pan fried and used as a between a meal snack also mixed with egg white and recooked like a potato cake. I've read online where a couple of people ate them uncooked which would be a last resort for me. I think the 2.2 bag is a good size to try. BTW I know no one at Honeyville. I found their site after joining a health club online which had members who used steel cut oat recipes. Enjoy!!!

Awesome!

The best oatmeal I've ever had! Take 1 cup of oats and 2 cups of water 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp salt. Put in crock pot overnight (or for 8 hours).

I love em

I'm about 1/3 way through the 50 lb bag and they're great - I love the texture. My tip for lazy cooking of these is to use a thermos food jar so I don't have to stand in front of a stove for 45 minutes. Half a cup of oats and fill the thermos will boiling water (or adjust the water to how firm/soft you like em). Then just wait about an hour (firm) to an hour and a half and BAM oatmeal. Or start it the night before and it's ready (but a *little* soft for my taste) in the morning.

Anna's Magical Oatmeal

I have been sharing my groats with friends and Airbnb guests for several years and my success is astounding. Every person I serve it to (with exception of some children) becomes an instant groats-enthusiast and ends up addicted to them.

I love Oat Groats

I have a "Flaker" attachment for my grinder and am able to make fresh oatmeal out of oat groats. What I love is that I take my fresh flaked oatmeal and add milk some nuts a little cinnamon and some agave sweetener and have a wonderful breakfast cereal without cooking! (Yes I eat it cold and without cooking) It is a great addition to my food storage a way to incorporate grains into my daily diet and tastes fantastic without cooking.

Wonderful Breakfast or Stuffing

I'm not a huge fan of the sticky texture of oatmeal but I love the taste of oats so these were recommended by a friend. Turns out I've been missing out on the most delicious and filling breakfast for all my life! Nutty and unique the flavor is perfectly accepting of either sweet or savory additions.
