Great to thicken chili!

My grandmother always cooked pinto beans overnight before making her chili with Williams Chili Powder/Mix. I hasten to add that her chili was a mild tomato-free Oklahoma/Missouri chili long on flavor but short on fire. Served with Nabisco Saltine crackers and milk it was our family's winter comfort food.

My secret to make a thicker bean soup.

When I cook pinto beans I add refried beans to the pot as well. It makes the soup nice and thick just as I like it. Refried beans are nice to have on hand for this purpose as well as making bean and cheese burritos. Keeping shelf-stable foods that are quick and easy to prepare makes a lot of sense to me.

Yummy and easy!

These are a big hit in our house. My nine-year-old daughter LOVES refried beans and these are so quick and easy that she can easily fix them herself for a snack. They do not have the additives that most canned refried beans do (such as soybean oil preservatives and flavorings). Thank you for a great product!

Yum

These are great alone or added to sausage tvp with some chipotle. Also great as a thickener in chili if you added too much liquid. Way better than canned plus if you want a quick nacho dinner these are a snap.

Refried Beans Extraordinaire

These babies are GOOD. Boil some water dump it on a like amount of beans wait a couple of minutes and eat! I've eaten a lot of homemade frijoles and you can't make 'em any better than these. They're a little pricey in the cans - sure wish they would offer them in say 5 pound bags.

I opened these last night. I was amazed at the ease of preparation and the quality of the flavor and texture! I will buy some for my husband who is not a cook at all & he is overseas on his own for a while. They are easy to prepare and taste like homemade. I live now in Maine and need to be prepared for snowed in. These are and will be handy. Yes go for them!

Refried Beans!

LOVE these beans! We eat a LOT of refried beans and these taste the best of all we've tried. Add a little seasoning and water and they're done quick! I usually make my own but Honeyville prices make it much easier.

Delicious...

The refried beans are an excellent product. They are delicious fast and easy to prepare. I consider this a key preparedness item; beans are nutritious and in this form they don't require a lot of resources to be ready to eat in minutes. And don't forget they are delicious! :0)
