Can't be beat!

I have this almost every morning with some flax seed thrown it. It really is a wonderful cereal. Much cheaper than store bought also.

Yummy Pancakes

I've never been a fan of hot cereals but bought this for a family member to try instead. Found that it is very good with a little butter. But it makes even better pancakes. It's soo good that it really puts restaurant pancakes to shame. What a wonderful product!!

As good as Cream of Wheat from the grocery store

I purchased this for my survival stores but was hesitant to do so because of the ratings. I found Honeyville's Farina product to be identical to Cream of Wheat from the grocery store only cheaper. The farina is as finely ground as commercial Cream of wheat. In fact family members comparing a jar of Cream of Wheat against Honeyville's Farina couldn't tell them apart. This also cooks and tastes the same so I'm not sure why this receives lower ratings.

Error with instructions on the can!

I can't believe that a large company like Honevyille would blow it this badly. The instructions say to mix the farina 3:1 in boiling water and stir for 10 minutes at a simmer. I would LOVE to watch the person who wrote these instructions make the farina this way. They would have a burnt or rubber hockey puck when they were done. Not sure if they changed the cut of the farina or what but this is a serious error. Please Honeyville try this for yourselves! My real world testing is something more like 8:1 water to farina. I still haven't found the right ratio since it thickens every time! It's going to be well over 4:1. With that said it seems like the farina is going to taste very good. Once I get the right mix I will be able to determine the taste.

Review

My husband loves this cereal. It tastes fresher than the boxed Cream of Wheat from the store. We like to stir brown sugar or marshmellows into the hot cereal. I've also used it in muffins (substitute 1/4 cup of the flour in the recipe) turns out great! If you store this in the can after opening can pour the farina into a gallon ziploc bag and put the sealed bag back in the can to keep it fresher.

Hearty Breakfast

This is a good and inexpensive substitute for Cream of Wheat. Takes alittle longer to cook but is rich and creamy! Beware though directions on the can say to use a 1 part cereal to 3 parts water I used a 1 to 6 ratio and got a perfect consistency.
