There are better options, Depends on what you need it for

As with all buckets, these buckets are over-priced for what you get. Honeyville has a good discount going so it makes them reasonable IF you use them for the intended purpose.
These might sub for camping BUT they are best reserved for using as grab -n-go food for your get out of dodge planning. The buckets are very good for this as they have variety, come ready to grab and go., and easy to prepare.
The main issue is as others have noted. Wise is about the worst when it comes to the ingredient list. Their advertising is a joke, ain't now way its a 4 week bucket. I figure about a bucket a week.
AND as my title says there are better options. Personally I would make my own bucket (and I have!)

For my bucket I use a mix of MH packets I got on sale and made up some packets or transferred from cans into my own Mylar bags. It's easy to do and your bucket will have what you like to eat instead of a mix of everything. For instance the MH Lasagna is very good, the chicken Alfredo needs help, several other pre-made meals are decent others not so much OR they need some beefing up with some adds.

Long and short these buckets are an option if you are too lazy to do it yourself. AND I would definitely try at least one of each and figure out what you really want to keep and use!

Unhealthy (trans fats) and insufficient.

Purchased discovered that this entire pail contains just over 20 000 calories - TOTAL. No way in heck can anyone claim that this is a "4 week supply for one Adult". I felt disappointed and somewhat scammed. A more proper description would be 1.5 weeks of food for 1 adult - especially in an emergency situation. If you follow the dietary guidelines advertisements you'll be too weak to survive the emergency. Given the care with which Honeyville usually applies to their products I would encourage them to either re-list this product more realistically or replace it with something else. Frankly - a copy of 'Meals in a Jar" cookbook + ingredients for DIY'ers might be more valuable.

Calorie Count

I give them 5 stars for their intended purpose but I have to dock them one star because in my personal opinion the description is misleading in that this is an adequate food supply for an adult for 4 weeks.

Disaster supplies

I've tried Creamy pasta and vegetable rotini and Chili Macaroni. It tasted good for freeze dried food. My point view is that if I' m hungry or starving it will taste like Filet mignon. If you are looking for super healthy food this had 210 calories per 1 cup serving size and 2 servings per bag. I not worried about calories or trans fats in a disaster situation it's about surviving. I will buy more.

Adequate....but not healthy

I am usually very pleased with Honeyville products and am a repeat customer; however I was disappointed to see the large amounts of trans fat in these things when they arrived. That information was not available on-line when ordering. I won't buy these again.

good nutrition + long term storage

we reordered (again) because we are happy with durable and safe packaging. shipping is a bargain and these reuseable buckets last for years. those finding themselves without food for a couple days or those that have had to eat found scraps during a long emergency would not complain if and when the time comes for these emergency foods. Thank you for having these available we appreciate your company that cares about people.

Stroganoff seems OK

Tried the Stroganoff today Wife says it is OK (better with a little salt and she put it over mashed potatoes) daughter says it is not bad. I think if you want a meal while camping or hiking this would be a good choice especially if refrigeration is not available.

Aftertaste

Wise was offering some sample deals - four meals for the price of shipping - so I tried some. I also found them unpalatable. There was a noxious chemical undertaste that I simply couldn't handle. That said others who tried them had no problems at all and said they didn't notice it and rather liked the taste.

Surprisingly Good

I was a little surprised to read the previous review. We opened ours up and tried everything with the kids and were very pleasantly surprised. Good food good serving size I was satisfied. Is it a gourmet meal...absolutely not but what do you want for $1.60 a serving. I'm confident that this product gets the job done when I need it to at the right price. I also packed along a few pouches when I last camped which was extremely convenient and light weight.
