Not Sure If I Will Buy

I love the idea of this product. Was going to buy with my last order but they where out of stock. Now I see the price has more than doubled since I lasted ordered in July 2015. Would love to add them to my pantry but not at this price.

I love it in baking

I am so happy with this product, with the cost of eggs in the supermarket sky rocketing and I do a lot of baking this is the best. I love the texture in my cakes and other bake goods and it seems to make the bake goods creamier..I do add 1 -2 tablespoons more then directed but I found it works easier....I have not tried them as regular scrambled eggs.

cant go back

these are ok ....but once you use their Ova Easy egg crystals it hard to go back to these.....both are great for baking but the Ova Easy...are the ones you want to eat scrambled.....the only problem is the Ova Easy are really high priced.....so I use one for baking and stuff and the Ova easy for breakfast meals....

Learning

1st time I prepared them, I followed the directions on the can. Yuck! 2nd time I prepared them I followed recommendations from other reviewers. More liquid, butter, and longer soak time and what an improvement. Still perfecting the preparation but I'm glad I didn't give up after the 1st time. Pretty tasty now.

Great for Baking

These are great for Baking and Sauces.....used them in Pasta salads too....I live by myself and was tired of throwing out dated eggs.....I make about a dozen different things with Bisquick .....their powdered eggs and powdered milk.....have come up with some good low sugar desserts using Splenda with them too....great to have them around....I buy the 6 #10 cans save some money.....comes out about $17 a can that way.....

so far so good.

I decided to start slowly and include the whole egg into breakfast for us. Used 4 real store bought eggs and the same amount of the powered whole egg, mixed this together and added this to some cooked ham seasoned w/bacon grease and cooked together and added cheese at the end.it went over pretty well, my oldest teenage son said it was like plastic but ate it anyways. I think next time I will add a little melted Crisco shortening to the eggs and instead of water use milk. May even consider adding more salt and not telling my kids about using the powdered eggs and see what the vote is next time. I will be getting more.

A staple in our Food Supply

I love having Honeyville's dried eggs on hand to add to our 'honey whole wheat pancake mix'. They also work fantastic in most home-baked goods. I have not used them when making oven pancakes, but think if I added some dried egg whites along with the dried whole eggs it would be worth a go. After reading these reviews, will take your advice on scrambled eggs and omelets, and give it a try. Another great product from Honeyville.....thank you for being a solid part of my food storage/rotation/meals. I tell all my friends and family about your products and your amazing shipping price.....the best ever!!

Not For Scrambling...

Bought these for camping trips and wasn't happy with the texture of the eggs. They taste fine, but aren't as expected. The amount is also different than described on the label. They do, however, substitute very well for baking.

Cooking powdered eggs

Powdered eggs are great scrambled. The secret is to add vegetable oil use milk instead of water and let your reconstituted eggs sit a while. I mix the eggs then refrigerate overnight. Use in cooking just as you would whole eggs. If frying season highly. Delicious!
