Honeyville's Whole Wheat Flour is milled from sound, scientifically cleaned and specifically selected spring red wheat, to produce a premium quality flour. Our wheat flour contains the wheat germ and wheat bran, making it healthier than traditional wheat flour. It is higher in fiber, vitamin E, B vitamins and protein than enriched white flour. Because of the presence of bran, which reduces gluten development, baked goods made from this flour are naturally heavier and denser than those made with white flour. Many bakers combine whole wheat and white flour in order to gain the attributes of both. The wheat germ and wheat bran give the flour a more hearty appearance. Excellent bread flour

I use the Honeyville whole wheat flour for sourdough and yeasted breads. For sourdough the flavor and tang are excellent. Yeasted, made with 50% unbleached flour and 50% whole wheat, makes fantastic sandwich bread. And the price per oz is amazing.

Healthier flour without compromising taste!

I switched to this flour 3years ago after I heard about it from a colleague. I make Indian bread(rotis/Puris) as well as bread with this. For making bread in the bread machine I do add 30% of all purpose flour. As expected the bread is a little denser when using this flour but that's perfect with a soup on a cold day :) The Indian breads are a little darker because of the color of the flour. But they don't taste much different than the ones made wheat flour found in Indian stores. Few of my friends switched to this flour too after tasting it at my home!
