Erythritol doesn't cause gastrointestinal distress like some sugar alcohol products do. Since its less sweet than sugar, I find it works best synergistically with another sugarless product such as stevia. Its excellent for baking and provides the bulk that is usually missing when sugar is removed from a recipe and replaced with a substitute.
