Professional Geek

A good product. Take the "90 large eggs" equivalent with a grain of salt but it does reconstitute to a good product. A suggestion though for eating straight: melt a tablespoon of butter per 3 or 4 egg equivalents and mix in before pouring into the pan - totally removes the 'soapbubbles' and adds a better mouthfeel to the final product. I'll be buying more we're going though our first 'test' can fairly fast. : )

Well received in Afghanistan

I had a chaplain request powdered eggs. It seems he bakes cakes for birthdays and other special occasions for the Marines he is with in Afghanistan. He was thrilled to receive an entire case of these eggs!

Not bad at all

I really had something in my head against powdered eggs and I can't say they smell great (although reg eggs don't either) but as against them as I was they are actually just like eating scrambled eggs. Don't be afraid of them! Taste just like any other scrambled eggs you make. I wondered whether restaurants use them after trying them. Can't beat this places shipping price!

Good Eggs

I've raised my rating because my experiment of mixing these with some of the dried egg whites very quickly made fantastically light scrambled eggs that would have made a great omelet if I'd had any stuffing handy. It is possible that waiting longer for them to reconstitute as suggested by another reviewer would make them better without the egg whites but if that is needed then the can should say so. At any rate the flavor was great and it seems that they will make good scrambled eggs one way or another.

Who knew?

Who knew that powdered eggs would cook up to look like the real thing? There is a slight flavor difference when eaten plain but dashes of salt and pepper make them delightful. I was very skeptical that they could even compare to fresh but seeing is believing. Applications: scrambled eggs while camping pasteurized eggnog and ease and speed when needing 2 dozen eggs to make freezer french toast.

I wish I've known earlier about Honeyville Farms

My wife and I love powdered eggs. Never thought we could buy them. We've looked and searched everywhere until a friend told us about Honeyville. It's better than real eggs. No more shells in my omlette. We don't have to buy a dozen at a time. Thank you

This product contains added aluminum which is a long-term mental health hazard. So for occasional use and as a survival tool in nuclear winter type scenarios it should fine - but as daily or weekly food FRESH eggs are better for your health & your wallet as well.

Perfectly good powdered eggs

I just now tried the whole powdered egg mix for the first time. Not bad at all. I first ate powdered eggs in the US Navy 40 years ago. This product is way better. I used a 2oz shot glass to measure 1 full shot of egg mix to 2 full shots of water...the 1:2 ratio called for in the directions on the can. I used a fork to mix the eggs but a small whisk would be better. It takes a minute or so to mix thoroughly. Then into a nonstick pan with a bit of butter and scramble as usual. Texture is not like real eggs but so what? The taste was fine. I like to spice up my eggs anyway. I can see using the various dried onions etc. to dress up these eggs for a really decent tastey meal. I'd recommend this egg product to anyone looking for a good healthy egg food product...especially to those like me who want a product they can store easily for long periods of time.
