The LuminAID PackLite 12 comes in handy when you need it. This waterproof lantern provides light in four different settings: Extra Bright, HIGH, LOW, and FLASHING. The PackLite offers light for 6, 8, 12, and 32 hours on each setting respectively. To recharge, all you need to do is set it in the sunlight for 7 hours and you're ready to go!

You might be wondering:
  • How do I inflate the PackLite 12? Simply blow into the valve and allow air to enter the lantern.
  • How do I turn the light on and off? There is a red power button just below the solar panel. Press this button to turn the light on. Press the power button, until you’ve gone through the brightness settings to turn off.
  • Are the settings adjustable? Yes. The power button serves as the setting adjuster. You can cycle through the settings to choose the brightness you prefer.
  • Can I charge my LuminAID PackLite 12? Turn your lantern off and set it in direct sunlight with the panel facing up. In order to achieve a full charge, allow it to charge for 7 hours.
  • How do I know it’s charging? It can only charge while it’s turned off. The red indicator light next to the power button will turn red when the solar panel is receiving enough sunlight to charge.
  • How long does a full charge last? On the Extra Bright setting, it will stay illuminated for 6 hours. On the HIGH setting, it will provide light for 8 hours. On the LOW setting, you’ll get 12 hours of light. And up to 32 hours on the FLASHING setting.
  • Is it waterproof? Yes, up to 1 meter or about 3 feet deep. And it floats.

All about the Packlite 12

The first thing I'd like to tell you is about the size of this as the description doesn't say. When inflated (very easy with your breath as it is small and once you open it up it basically self-inflates so all you need to use is one breath at the most to fill it), it is a cube of 4 inches, so 4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. When deflated it is a little square no thicker than a deck of cards. It is pretty much all plastic. The little solar panel on the top is covered in clear plastic. The strap is orange plastic which is sewn sturdily onto the cube and on all of its sides and has three plastic snaps so you can open the strap completely and adjust its length. If you press the flat button on the top of the light you can cycle through the light modes: high, medium, low, flashing, and off. I like to take it with me as a lantern when I walk my dog at night. The light on bright is good and bright. It holds a charge a LONG time and I keep it by a window with indirect light. Occasionally I will turn on a table lamp over it and keep all of my little solar lights charged up. It is basically weightless which is a plus compared to carrying a big lantern and would be great for travel and tent camping as you could use the strap to hang it in your tent and there would be no sagging or danger should it fall. I know this thing would float. Getting rained on isn't going to bother it at all. I really like the idea of solar lighting and am totally happy with this easy to use and lightweight lantern.
