granulated honey

Granulated means - 2.become or make grainy in texture: to become rough and grainy in texture or appearance, or give something a rough and grainy texture or appearance.
What does honey become when you take out the water? Honey's natural sugars are dehydrated, which prevents fermentation, with added enzymes to modify and transform their chemical composition and pH. Invertases and digestive acids hydrolyze sucrose to give the monosaccharides glucose and fructose. The invertase is one of these enzymes synthesized by the body of the insect.

Honey bees transform saccharides into honey by a process of regurgitation, a number of times, until it is partially digested. The bees do the regurgitation and digestion as a group. After the last regurgitation, the aqueous solution is still high in water, so the process continues by evaporation of much of the water and enzymatic transformation.

When honey is dehydrated it becomes light. It is cut with the sugar cane syrups to give it the grainy texture. the sugar cane syrups are not much different from the honey when it is broken down into chemical form.

There is no false advertising because it does not say 100 percent pure honey. There would be no weight to the honey unless it has the sugar cane syrups added to it.
The flavor of the honey mix taste the same as honey once it has been rehydrated. You control the thickness of the honey by how much water you use in rehydration. If you are looking for 100 percent dried honey; you wont find it because there is no weight to the honey once it is dried. It has to be cut with some sort of syrup dried to give it weight.

We will continue to use this product. the flavor is good and it mixes well when used in baking. Look at it as honey mixed with sugar cane syrup in a dried form. Sugar cane syrup is used in many products you use everyday when baking. If you are a purist; then you will not be buying this product. If you are looking for a honey taste, and a good product to use in baking that does not have to use pure sugar cane; then you have found a wonderful product.. I disdain people that put down products for what they can not do when they are sooo uneducated as to what the product is actually for and how they are used.

Some of you people need to be educated. omg

SCDer

It's regrettable that this product is described as being "granulated honey" when it contains "cane syrups." There are many people who cannot tolerate adulterated honey like this yet who would welcome 100% pure honey which was also powdered. I'm one of them so I won't be ordering this product.

not pure honey

I was VERY excited to see this new product! Then I saw the ingredients. It's not really accurate saying it's granulated honey when refinery syrup is the first ingredient. Found this online: "Refiners Syrup is a pleasant tasting thick syrup with a rich unique flavor. It is a by-product of the refining of cane sugar. No benefits other than a very pleasant flavor. Like sugar it provides empty calories it has no nutritional value whatsoever. People do not buy it for its health giving properties." If you want pure granulated honey Packit Gourmet sells it in small quantities... guess that's where I'll be getting mine.

Great honey great value

Regardless of this honey being blended or its origins it is still US Grade A honey and the quality is excellent. Great flavor far better than the standard store-bought honeys and on par with many "gourmet" honeys that we've tried - and at this price we're VERY happy with it. We'll continue to purchase it here.

Blended honey

I was disapointed that the honey wasn't from the USA and was blended honey. I purchased it thinking it was raw honey and was disapointed. It should read blended and also say it comes from sources that are out of our country.

Honey granules

Contains more than honey. Not 100% Honey. Contains liquid cane sugar. Quite a surprise; bordering on misleading false label advertisement.
