Yea

We ordered this because it was on sale. The instructions on the can say 2/3 water to 2/3 mix. The web site, however, says 3/4 water 2/3 mix. I made it according to the instructions on the can, but think the latter ratio would be best. We liked it and will order again.

I really like this

I really like Fettucine Alfredo. And to have it in a can just boiling water--WOW! I added a small can of freezed dried chicken cause others had said that it seemed a bit low on chicken.

I dumped both cans into a big mixing bowl and mixed the ingredients up pretty well. Then I took a 3/4 cup measuring cup and measured this out. Then I pour in boiling water and cover with foil. If you give it 12-15 mins the noodles end up nice and soft. The chicken is rehydrated.

It's pretty high in sodium. To get rid of the salty taste I also add in a tablespoon or two of powdered buttermilk. And I add a tiny bit of extra water.

My own recommendations--divide the seasoning powder into a separate bag so we the consumer can measure it out and portion it just so. You can portion this out and reseal it with a Foodsaver. But you DEFINITELY need to use an oxygen absorber. When you portion it out you'll also have to portion out the seasonings. That would be okay. I would recommend an extra small can of freezed dry chicken especially for protein lovers.

Great product

The product, compared to boxed dinners from the grocery store holds it's own. The product should be shaken well because lets face it. All small particles settle during shipping, that's a given. Cooking it for less time will solve the soft noodle problem. Also, it you feel like it, measure out what you're going to cook, throw just the pieces of broken up chicken in pot and cook for 5-8 minutes or so before adding the rest of the ingredients and it's perfect. Dehydrated meat will always take longer to rehydrate than pasta. It doesn't matter what company sells the product. Flavor is like beauty, it's a matter of opinion. Add additional seasonings and ingredients as desired. I like the product and will purchase it again.

Tastes pretty good, actually

I like the flavor. I would like more chicken in it and the noodles are a little too soft for my liking. I added some shredded chicken breast to mine last night and it spruced it up considerably. With the addition of the fresh chicken breast, I'd jump the quality to 4, but of course, then it is more expensive.

Great pantry addition & for camping

I bought this because it looked like something my family would eat. The not only ate it but really liked it. One suggestion I would make.. and I did, was to add freeze dried peas to it. More taste and a more balanced quick meal. GREAT for camping.

Curious

I wondered why the bad reviews then noticed that they all are dated 3/24/14. Kinda makes you think. Hmmm, Might a Honeyville competitor be reviewing their products?

Use as additive

We liked the flavor of this, and are using it to mix like a sauce, with additional noodles.
I found I have to re-mix the entire can prior to use, since the powdered sauce apparently settles to the bottom of the can due to the shaking during transport.

We liked it!!

I was really surprised at the negative reviews. We actually liked it and were surprised at how good it is. I found, if you shake the can good before you measure you will get the right amount of sauce powder, it makes a big difference. Also, if you break up the larger pieces of chicken so they fully rehydrated, that helps, too. If you pay full price, it comes to $1.76 a serving but I usually wait for the sales. I purchased these products for emergency food storage but wouldn't hesitate to serve the Chicken Alfredo anytime. Throw in a few mushrooms and artichoke hearts, top it with parmesan cheese and it is better than what I have had in a lot of restaurants.
