Honeyville's Dehydrated Potato Dices will make you forget all about the days when you washed, peeled, sliced and diced potatoes. They are a great addition to your pot roast, soups, and side dishes. They’re crisp just like potatoes should be. Dehydrated potato dices are ideal for keeping preparation time to a minimum while camping, or if there’s ever an emergency situation. They also contain the starch and vitamins necessary for energy.

Honeyville Dehydrated Potato Dices are produced in a process where moisture is removed from the product in a special drying process. This remarkable process concentrates the fresh taste, natural color, and texture of potatoes in its dehydrated state.

When rehydrated, the potatoes will absorb the liquid and become fresh diced potatoes again. The taste is great, and the nutritional food value is preserved. Dehydrating provides natural and additive free vegetables to be stored effectively for long periods of time. Honeyville Dehydrated Potato Dices are an ideal product for long term food storage and emergency preparedness.

Shelf-Life:  Dehydrated Potato Dices will store for 5 to 10 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once opened, it has an average shelf life of 6 to 12 months.

Instructions:  Place Dehydrated Potato Dices into a bowl or container. Add enough boiling hot water to barely cover all of the potatoes. Allow potatoes to hydrate for about 15 minutes or until fully rehydrated.

Uses:  Dehydrated Potato Dices can be used separately or in combination with breakfast burritos, fritadas, stews, casseroles, and more.

Great in soup

I confess that all I have used these for is in soup. I do not re-hydrate them before throwing them in my chicken noodle soup, along with my dehydrated carrots and celery also purchased from Honeyville. The three are my go-to standard for this soup, and all three are delish that way.

Awesome Potato Salad

I wanted potato salad but had no fresh potatos. I hadn't worked with your potato dices before so today was the day. Followed directions for rehydrating and even put some dehydrated onions in the water. I let them soak longer than 15 minutes as I was busy doing other things. I rinsed them and then covered with water and boiled till they were done. Drained them and ran cold water over them. Let them sit for a few minutes and whipped up my favorite potato salad recipe. Tasted just like mine without all the work! Yes, the potatos were small but they didn't "mush" like someone said. Will definitely reorder and use again.

Very very very disappointed

I'm thinking I must not be talking about / received the same potato dices everyone else has. This weekend I was making 2 meals that last. When making soup & roast this weekend I decided to add potato dices. After opening the can I had to do a double and triple take reread the can to make sure I'd grabbed potato DICES and was still dumbfounded at microscopic size of them. I was thinking "dehydrated chunks" not something looking like a 'Chicklet" (you remember the little square gum right) cut into fourths. I forewent putting them in with the roast knowing they'd be to small even after rehydrating used slided potatoes instead. If I hadn't put the dices into the soup I wouldn't know they were there. Aside from not being as translucent as my onions they resemble (and you would think) they were chopped onions in the soup. We've eaten on the soup 2 days...no potato flavor (because they're microscopic in size)and they haven't plumped up in size by any means. There's NO WAY potato salad can be made from these things you'd have mayo or mustard with little bumps that you couldn't identify. I must have gotten a full can of crumbs. However I absolutely LOVE the other varieties of potatoes I've purchased just not this one.

So easy to cook with a very high quality food

Clean dices easy to rehydrate with any available liquid in a microwave. I've created several brand new dishes with these diced taters and whether baked stove-topped or microwaved with meats or vegetables or in a broth or pot likker they retain their taste and texture. If you're an intuitive and experienced cook this is a wonderful item to have on hand in bulk amounts. If you're new to cooking just experiment until you find your own ideal directions.

loved them

I used these diced potatoes to make potato salad. So much less work than boiling and cutting up potatoes. When I tasted them you couldn't tell them from fresh.

ok

I used these in a pasta dish and by the time they were cooked they had broken apart from the stirring. I think the slices might be good in an au gratin dish where they don't get moved around alot during cooking. I'm going to try the diced potatoes in my pasta dish next time. I'm very happy with the other products I've purchased from this company.

Honest Review

I think the biggest problem with this product is the manufacturers instructions. According to the can the product is to be measured out and covered with boiling water and allowed to soak for 15 minutes. Trust me this is not enough time. The batch we made was allowed to soak for nearly 30 minutes before we finally decided to try to cook them. This was a mistake however as 3/4 of the batch was still very under hydrated very crunchy and unedible. The fear here (of rehydrating to long)is that some of the product will begin to cook in the hot water while yet other pieces are still in the rehydrating phase(is this because of inconsistant cuts?). This could be a problem you see if you plan to fry instead of mash. These instructions can be misleading to those of us who arent proffesional rehydrators and could lead to valuable waste of time AND money. This product however when properly rehydrated could be a pretty decent product.
