Honeyville's Alta Artisan Unbleached Flour is a high quality flour that's similar to a low-protein European style flour. It has less gluten, which helps create crisper crusts and irregular hole structures. This flour type is commonly used to make baguettes, croissants, rustic breads, donut bases and more. While the fiber and protein is low, it does contain high amounts of iron, which is important for red blood cells. Honeyville Alta Artisan Unbleached Flour produces amazing results and is ideal for your baking needs.

Shelf-Life:  Stores for 1 year in a sealed 3.75 pound bag under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place).

Uses:  Used for high quality breads and baked goods, including baguettes, rustic country bread and donut bases.

Packaging:  Alta Artisan Unbleached Flour in bulk is available in a 3.75 pound bag and a 50 pound bag. Packaging may vary.

Ingredients:  Wheat flour enriched (niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), malted barley flour, and ascorbic acid added as a dough conditioner.

Awesome Flour

I bake a lot and was very impressed with this flour. I made the baguette recipe on the back of the small bag and it came out perfectly. Crisp crust and great inside. I now have bought the 50 lb. bag and can't wait to use it on my other breads and pizza dough.

Work great on my breads

I make sourdough breads I also have a couple cultures I bake with ,and this alta flour explodes in my brick oven spring its just unbelievable ,Great product ,shipping is good too can,t beat the price .I have tried all different kinds of flour but this is a keeper

Great product

This is a great product my breads taste wonderfuland always bake up golden brown. I started to order the flour through amazon and now will order with honeyville site. If you have been thinking about trying this flour you will not regret switching...Honeyville makes a wonderful product!

Best Tasting Flour Hands Down

I got into bread baking last fall with no-kneads. Then bought Peter Reinhart's book to move to the next level. I started out with King Arthur bread flour but thought there might be something better out there and did some research bringing me to Honeyville. The reviews sold me on Alta Artisan. (Honeyville says that this is lower gluten but their analysis says 12% protein which is high gluten bread flour....go figure?) I can't say that I noticed a performance difference. Bread is tricky and technique is everything but I can tell you that the flavor of my breads has improved dramatically. This is just the best tasting flour out there. I bake a pain de mie every week. It tastes so good that we call it "bread cake". Yumm.

My favorite bread flour!

This is my favorite bread flour... hands down! I have tried most of the expensive unbleached flours out there. Alta Artisan consistently makes the finest loaf with the best texture. The crust is fabulous!

Great for the breadmaker

I've never learned to make bread so I bought a Zojirushi breadmaker and have been using this flour for months once or twice a week. The bread is always perfect and the taste ahhhhh!! This is my second time ordering thanks Honeyville for the wonderful discount. I'm a long time fan!

Fabulous texture

I have been making my artisan bread with regular bread flour with okay results. I tried this flour on a whim and was amazed at the results. The crust is nice and crispy but the real treat is the airiness and wonderful chewiness of the inside! It is fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone for this type of bread. Give it a try you won't be sorry.

Perfect blending High performace

By far the best artisan flour I have used - I like it better than King Arthur & what is available at our coop. The price is reasonable; shipping is prompt; product is fresh. I make @ 6 loaves every other week with Northwest Sourdough starter which performs well with this flour. Friends and neighbors are delighted with a loaf of consistently crispy-on the outside airy-soft & chewy-in the middle goodness. Day old slices make wonderful French toast. I'm going to sell these at our local Farmers' Market.
